Washington Friends of Music New Year’s Day Concert & Party will take place on Jan. 1, 2025 at 4pm at The Frederick Gunn School Thomas S. Perakos Arts and Community Center in Washington, CT.

Concert and ticket information will be posted right after Thanksgiving.

Press release 2024 NYD Concert

Come celebrate the New Year with beautiful music and a party - on Jan. 1st at 4pm at the Frederick Gunn School Arts Center, 22 Kirby Road, Washington, CT *)

The 2024 Washington Friends of Music New Year’s Day Concert will feature twelve extraordinary musicians, including -

  • Artistic Director Wendy Sutter, performs with the New York Philharmonic and is heralded as “one of the great leading cellists of the classical stage” 
  • Nicolas Danielson, violin, Grammy-award recipient, and Assistant Concertmaster of the New York City Ballet
  • Daniel Khalikov and Xiao-Dong Wang, violin, of New York’s Metropolitan Opera Orchestra
  • Robert Rinehart, viola, of the New York Philharmonic 
  • Wayne Du Maine, trumpet, performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and other renowned venues in New York, on Broadway, and with the legendary musician, Prince.
  • Paolo Bordignon, harpsichordist of the New York Philharmonic and organist and choirmaster of the St. Bartholomew’s Church

Tickets can be purchased based on availability - online, as well as at the Hickory Stick Bookshop in Washington and County Wine and Spirits in New Preston (cash or check only). Admission includes the concert and the party - $45 in advance - or $50 at the door (cash or check only). Seating is limited. Children and students are admitted free of charge.
